Thmanyah is a prominent Saudi media technology company dedicated to enhancing Arabic content in the region. With over 20 products, including articles, newsletters, documentaries, and podcasts, it aims to document life in Arab societies and transform media journalism.

Covering a range of topics from culture and cinema to health and finance, Thmanyah is recognized as the largest podcast network in the Arab world and the leading producer of documentary films in Saudi Arabia.

Challenge

With Thmanyah's recent rebranding efforts, the goal is to bring the brand to life through a simple and engaging environmental design and way-finding system in Arabic to properly represent Thmanyah’s values. This development will enhance the experience for internal employees and podcast guests, guiding them through Thmanyah's offices while reflecting their values. As the project evolves, it will also serve the broader Thmanyah community in public spaces across Riyadh Jax District, Al Ula, and historical Jeddah. The way-finding system aims to create smooth navigation, fostering a sense of belonging and connection within these three vibrant locations.

Solution

As a first step, Milk Network carefully analyzes Thmanyah's current spaces, focusing on the customer journey for employees, podcast guests, and the public. The rooms are analyzed to identify areas needing a proper way-finding or signage system, as well as spaces that require enhanced communication messages. Thmanyah's environment is inviting, blending simplicity, modernity, and cultural elements.

The way-finding system developed by Milk Network utilizes the brand's primary colors —black and white— and emphasizes the Arabic language. Sustainable materials are chosen to ensure longevity in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

An innovative aspect of the system is the integration of light smart sensing technology. When a visitor arrives at specific locations, the directional signage illuminates, highlighting arrows and available rooms. Importantly, the lights turn off when the visitor leaves, promoting environmentally friendly solutions. Additionally, highlighted text, a key component of Thmanyah's brand identity, is incorporated into the way-finding system to create a cohesive look and feel.

Milk Network also implements a unique iconography style across physical spaces to clearly identify the different rooms in their three offices: the HQ at Riyadh Jax District, Al Ula, and Historical Jeddah.
